1 Chronicles 13: Transportation of the Ark of the Covenant and Death of Uzzah

This chapter, which mentions the scene of the first attempt at religious ministry in this flow, describes an incident caused by David's mistake. Therefore, David's act of moving the Ark of the Covenant was an expression of faith that gave full authority to rule to God, and this is why David and his dynasty were able to receive blessings.

1 Chronicles 14: David’s Fame

This book makes special mention in the context of an overview of David's reign. This chapter has a special meaning because it is located between chapter 13, where the Ark of the Covenant was moved against regulations and witnessed God's judgment in the process of moving it to Jerusalem, and chapter 15, where the Ark of God was moved again in accordance with regulations. The same content as this chapter is recorded in 2 Samuel 5, but the writer of Samuel considered the content of this chapter to be a political victory, so he moved it to the latter half of David's reign and recorded it. However, unlike this, the Chronicler recorded the contents of this chapter in the early days of David's reign to emphasize God's blessing of granting him prosperity despite David's actions that went against the rules. And right after, in chapter 15, it explains why the blessing came to King David by mentioning the fact that the Ark of the Covenant was moved according to the regulations. The contents of this chapter include the first half (verses 1-7), which describes King David's great prosperity in Jerusalem, the middle part (verses 8-12), which describes the scene of defeating the Philistine army under God's guidance immediately after his accession to the throne, and It consists of the latter half (verses 13-17), which records the annihilation of the Philistine army that attacked again through a surprise attack.

1 Chronicles 15: Ark of the Covenant Moved to Jerusalem

This chapter records the scene where the Ark of the Covenant was moved from Obededom's house to Jerusalem three months after Uzzah died instantly by touching the Ark of the Covenant. David learned from the mistakes he made when he first tried to move the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem and this time attempted to move the ark as specified in the regulations. That is why the writer of this book mentioned the contents of the main incident in comparative detail, and wrote this chapter out of priestly interest. The first half of this chapter describes King David's thorough preparations to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem (verses 1-15), and the middle part describes the service of the Levites who served in moving the Ark of the Covenant (verses 16-24). ) And it consists of the second half (verses 25-29) that reports the praise of all the Israelites who successfully brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. The theme of this chapter is to reveal that as a result of King David doing his best in God's way to never repeat the mistakes of the past, God's power and great power were surprisingly revealed both inside and outside of his kingdom.

1 Chronicles 16: David’s Sacrifice and Thanksgiving

This chapter shows David's continued pious actions after he moved the ark of God to Jerusalem with the people. First, David offered a peace offering in front of the ark of God (verses 1-3), then organized a praise band (verses 4-6), composed a poem of thanks, and had the choir sing praises (verses 7-36). Lastly, David also established a system of service to God (verses 37-43). This chapter records the excitement and joy that the Ark of the Covenant was finally safely placed in the City of David, and the praise of the Levitical choir along with all the people spread throughout Jerusalem.​
