Day 302 Reading Schedule: Luke 14~16 Luke 14: The Way of the Disciple [Summary] On the Sabbath, Jesus healed a man with gout after eating at the house of the leader of the Pharisees (verses 1-6). He also taught people to be humble and humble (verses 7-11), and taught the person who invited Jesus that it is better to invite the poor rather than the rich when hosting a feast (verses 12-14). When someone who was eating with Jesus said something, Jesus told the parable of the great banquet (verses 15-24). On the way back after the feast, Jesus taught the crowds who were with him about discipleship (verses 25-35).
Luke 15: Rejoicing in Repentance [Summary] All the tax collectors and sinners came to hear Jesus. The Pharisees and scribes who saw this scene criticized Jesus, saying that he was one of the sinners (vv. 1-2). Then Jesus told them three parables. The first is the parable of the lost sheep (vv. 3-7), the second is the parable of the lost coin (vv. 8-10), and the third is the parable of the prodigal son (vv. 11-32).
Luke 16: Lessons on the Use of Wealth [Summary] Jesus told his disciples the parable of the unjust steward (vv. 1-13). The Pharisees were money lovers, so they laughed at the parable of the unjust steward, but Jesus taught them again to correct their wrong values. The main point was that the value of the law and the kingdom of God is incomparably more precious than money (vv. 14-18). By telling the parable of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus, he encouraged the Pharisees not to covet wealth but to live a life of faith and sincerity, thinking about the final judgment and life in the kingdom of God (verses 19-31). |
