Day 303 Reading Schedule: Luke 17~18 Luke 17: The Life of the Saints and the Second Coming of the Lord [Summary] Jesus urged his disciples not to cause others to stumble and to forgive their brothers (verses 1-4). When the disciples asked him to increase their faith, Jesus encouraged them by saying that even a mustard seed of faith could make the impossible possible (verses 5-10). Then, as he passed through Samaria and Galilee, he healed ten lepers (verses 11-19). In response to the Pharisees’ question about the kingdom of God, he taught them that the kingdom of God exists among the people (verses 20-21). Then, he taught his disciples about the various signs of the end times (verses 22-37).
Luke 18: Lessons on Prayer and Eternal Life [Summary] Jesus told the parable of the unjust judge and the widow (vv. 1-8), and the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector praying (vv. 9-14). When people brought little children to him, Jesus laid his hands on them and prayed for them (vv. 15-17). When a ruler asked Jesus about eternal life, Jesus ordered him to give all his possessions to the poor, but the man went away sad because he had so much wealth (vv. 18-30). Jesus foretold the suffering of his Messiah to the twelve disciples (vv. 31-34), and when he arrived at Jericho on his way to Jerusalem, he healed a blind man (vv. 35-43). |
